Lt Col Michael A. Maise is the Commander of the 482nd Maintenance Group, Homestead ARB, Florida. He leads over 500+ maintenance personnel in Air Force Reserve Command’s premier fighter wing. He is responsible for the maintenance of 28 F-16 aircraft valued at $600M. He manages and executes a flying hour program with 2,500 sorties and 3,800 hours and is responsible for a $1.2M annual budget. He implements combatant commands’ operational plans and requirements and is responsible for readiness and execution of daily maintenance efforts in support of AFRC combat capability.
Lt Col Maise is a native of Venice, La. He enlisted in the Air Force in August of 1995, as a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory Technician. After six years enlisted, serving as a PMEL Technician and a PMEL technical school instructor, he was selected to be commissioned via Officer Training School in 2001. Shortly after commissioning, he served as an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Maintenance Officer on both the Peacekeeper and Minuteman weapons platforms at both F.E Warren AFB, Wyo. and Minot AFB, N.D. He then transitioned to the Reserve and cross-trained to become an Aircraft Maintenance Officer. He’s worked bomber, fighter and rescue missions. He most recently deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Prior to his current position, the Lt Col was the Commander of the 41st Rescue Generation Squadron at Moody AFB, GA, the “best maintenance unit in the Air Force” for 2023.
