HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- The week of May 13-19, 2018 was National Police Week, that payed tribute to local, state, and federal peace officers who died, or who have been disabled in the line of duty.

This year the 482nd Security Forces Squadron honored the 20 SFS Defenders, 9 Department of Defense civilian police officers, and 17 Air Force Office of Special Investigation agents who have died while on duty since the 1930’s by running during the week.

As an organization the SFS ran a total of 125 miles during the week which is an outstanding achievement considering the recent bad weather.

The following SFS personnel ran the most miles:

1st place: Senior Airman Mychelle Bell - 30.79 miles

2nd place: Senior Master Sgt. Anna Barbosa - 27.4 miles

3rd place: Mr. Jason Sundin - 10 miles
