    Automated COMMUNICATOR recall system coming to base

    The 482nd Communications Squadron is expected to implement a new, automated system this fall that will streamline the recall procedures at Homestead Air Reserve Base.     New commander at Maritime Safety and Security Team Miami

    Lt. Cmdr. Jonathan D. Theel assumed command of the Coast Guard’s Maritime Safety and Security Team Miami in a ceremony here at Homestead Air Reserve Base on May 26. MSST’s are highly specialized teams on the water that are extremely mobile and world-wide deployable. Since its commissioning in 2005 MSST Miami has been deployed for over 300 days.

    Annual award winners announced

    Nearly 300 people packed the Homestead Air Reserve Base fitness center here May 6 to attend the Homestead Air Reserve Base annual awards banquet. The event, co-sponsored and hosted by the 482nd Fighter Wing and The Military Affairs Committee of the Greater Homestead/Florida City Chamber of Commerce, recognized the best and brightest of the base.
