RETIREE ACTIVITIES OFFICE
A special welcome is in store for all military retirees at Homestead Air Reserve Base. You will find that Homestead ARB has great people and great services for your retirement years in the South Florida and the Upper Keys areas.
The RAO provides a link between base agencies and military retirees, their family members, and survivors residing in designated sections of South Florida and the Keys. The RAO provides limited counseling, guidance and full referral assistance on retirement-related matters to help solve the problems of retirees, their family members, and surviving spouses of all military services. Additionally, reserve members close to retirement or in the "gray" area of reserve retirement are provided with assistance. Retirees are kept abreast of changes in retirement benefits and base retiree functions through
articles in the "e-CAN".
The RAO is manned entirely by volunteers. The Director of Retiree Activities is a retiree and is appointed by the Wing/Installation Commander. Staff volunteers attend the meetings of several Homestead ARB boards and committees to maintain liaison between base agencies and the retired community. The RAO office assists in planning and hosting the annual Retiree Appreciation Day featuring the Retired Military Family Briefing and other retiree-oriented events. The RAO does not duplicate any function or service provided by military and civilian agencies. In summary, the RAO provides a single point of initial contact between the military retired community and base agencies.

The newest edition of RAO's "e- CAN", a newsletter for retirees who are in the South Florida area, is available periodically and we will send it to you if you contact us at rao.homestead@us.af.mil so we can add you to our e-mailing list.

Building 346 is the first building on the left after entering the Westover Gate on Homestead ARB. Parking is available for you on the Northwest side of the building.
The HARB/RAO is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00-2:30 and each Saturday of the HARB Unit Training Assembly. Volunteers are needed and welcomed to support the work of the Homestead ARB Retiree Activities Office.
