Security Forces Memorial 5k

Members of the 482nd Security Forces Squadron participated in the annual Master Sgt. Frederrick Dawson Memorial Run at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida, March 5, 2022. The run was held in honor of Dawson, who was a well-respected enlisted leader for many years in the 482 SFS before passing away unexpectedly on March 5, 2016. Just before the run began, Master Sgt. David Guzman shared a personal story of how impactful Dawson had been throughout his career with the 482nd SFS, including during a deployment to Iraq in 2007. "We know he changed a lot people's lives," said 2nd Lt. Michael Renteria, one of the event organizers. "It was a way to show our love and respect for his service and what he meant to the unit. Just a way to honor him."
