Military Appreciation Day
People gather at Losner Park in downtown Homestead during the city’s first annual Military Appreciation Day, June 2. The day featured an F-16 flyover from pilots of Homestead Air Reserve Base’s 93rd Fighter Squadron, live-music performances from bands Main Highway and No Restrictions, a variety of food trucks, children’s activities, and a proclamation from Homestead Mayor Steven Bateman and city council was presented to Col. Donald Lindberg, 482nd Fighter Wing commander, in honor of Homestead’s local servicemembers and their families for their dedication and sacrifice. (U.S. Air Force photo/Ross Tweten)
