Homestead servicemembers satisfy their need for speed

Thomas Jalbert crams into the passenger seat of a NASCAR stock car at the Homestead-Miami Speedway Feb. 23. Airmen from Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., participated in the NASCAR Racing Experience in support of the Single Airman Initiative. During the event, Airmen took laps around the Speedway along with a professional racing instructor. The Single Airman Initiative is a program for all local servicemembers, regardless of rank, service, or marital status, to participate in several community events, to include airboat tours of the Florida Everglades and scuba diving classes, which are free of charge.
