Makos receive new commander

HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. --

The 93rd Fighter Squadron “Makos” welcomed their new commander, Lt. Col. David J. Sproehnle, and said goodbye to Lt. Col. Tavis C. Powell, during a change of command ceremony held during on September 12, 2021.

Prior to assuming command, Sproehnle was the Director of Operations with the 482nd Operations Support Squadron, here at HARB.

Lt. Col. Sproehnle entered the Air Force in January 2003 through ROTC from the University of Kentucky. He completed undergraduate pilot training in October 2004 and has over 4,000 hours flying various aircraft.

Lt. Col Powell will remain assigned to the 482nd Fighter Wing.
