Local bicycle club honors wounded warriors with benefit ride
HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. --
The Everglades Bicycle Club will host its 12th Annual Freedom Ride that benefits the Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans, a branch of Achilles International at 7:30 A.M., starting at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Oct. 19.
The Freedom Team of hand cyclists, accompanied by sponsoring cyclist-buddies, will be leading out the group of riders. The event begins with one lap around the Homestead-Miami Speedway Track.
The Century (100 mile) and Metric Century (62 mile) groups will head to Key Largo. The 10, 26 and 41 mile courses continue through rural south Miami-Dade County.
Part of the course will bring the cyclist's through Homestead Air Reserve Base.
