9/6/2012 - HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- Homestead Air Reserve Base hosts a voter registration drive at the Falcon's Nest Club, Sept. 7 and 8.

Members of the Miami-Dade County Department of Elections will be on base to register any Florida resident to vote in any county they reside.

Elections officials will register voters with any recognized political party or assist in changing party affiliations. For those who have moved to a new precinct and for those whose precinct boundary has changed, the team can fix that as well. Spouses of base members, retirees, and members of the base's tenant units as well as its civilian work force are encouraged and welcome to register to vote.

"Your vote is very important," said Lt. Col. Tom Davis, 482nd Fighter Wing director of staff and voter registration officer. "Please take a few minutes honoring our comrades who toiled and bled ensuring this vital right has been passed down to us."

For more information on voter registration, call Colonel Davis at 786-415-7442.
