Air Force Reserve positions are always open at Homestead Air Reserve Base's 482nd Fighter Wing.  Some positions have vacancies more often than others.  Currently, some of our openings are in the following career fields:

2W1X1 -- Aircraft Armament Systems
Job description:  In day-to-day maintenance you will be operating many different types of test equipment, gauges, and checking fixtures to ensure that a particular piece of equipment is reliable and ready to use.  If needed, you will repair the test equipment and checking fixture.  You will repair broken wiring, connectors, and electrical components within bomb racks, missile launchers, and dispensers.  You will be required to periodically inspect and mechanically and electrically test weapons release components.  If assigned to the gun shop, you will disassemble, inspect, repair, and assemble 20 or 30-millimeter guns and gun systems.

2W0X1 -- Munitions Systems
Job description:  You will receive, identify, inspect, store, recondition, ship, issue, deliver, maintain, test and assemble guided and unguided non-nuclear munitions.  You will handle, store and transport nuclear weapons and locally dispose of non-hazardous unserviceable munitions.  You will transport munitions using forklifts, trucks, tractors, trailers, bomb-lift trucks, cranes, semi-tractor trailers and special purpose vehicles.  You will maintain and recondition munitions, munitions handling equipment and munitions maintenance and storage facilities.  You will maintain and operate personal computers and the Sperry 1100 mainframe used with the Combat Ammunition System (CAS).  This career field has one of the broadest missions in the Air Force and offers the widest range of experience and training to its members.  You will have the opportunity to learn personnel management skills, warehousing, electronics, computers, heavy equipment maintenance and operations and inventory management.
