Congratulations to one of our deployed members

SOUTHWEST ASIA -- This week's Rock Solid Warrior is Staff Sgt. Jordan Navarro, a 386th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron logistics planner, deployed from Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla.

WHY DID YOU JOIN?
I grew up overseas as an Air Force brat moving every 2-3 years to Panama, Turkey, Guam, etc. So when I had the opportunity to join, it felt like a family rite of passage and it became one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

DEPLOYED UNIT VS HOME STATION?
Coming from a fighter wing, we do not move or deal with nearly the amount of PAX flow that I have experienced on a daily basis here.

GOALS?
I'm about six classes away from obtaining my bachelor's degree, and I really want to go the "darkside" as my old LRS commander would say to become the
first of my family to commission as an Air Force officer.

FAVORITE PART OF MISSION?
The fast tempo, networking with the multiple bases around the region, and that everyday is never the same; I'm constantly learning something new.

HOBBIES?
I love to dance as well as teach Salsa and Bachata.

CHALLENGES?
We can plan the logistic aspect of missions perfectly on paper but when it comes to action, you never know what can happen. Therefore, we constantly prepare contingency plans to be quick on our toes and to make that right decisions at the right moment. I am able to overcome many of these challenges because of my team with the backing of my leadership and with the support of my Airmen.
